I’m Kelly McMichael, and in addition to writing and teaching college history online, I’m growing a homestead. I’ve got a husband, a couple of kids, and a growing brood of animals. We are managing 135 acres of a farm that has been in my husband’s family since the Great Depression. They used to grow peanuts on the land. We are exploring new options. But mainly, we are trying to create a sustainable life. A place that nourishes the body and soul.
